Handmade Ornaments
We make one of a kind, handmade, Putz-inspired ornaments that are tiny replicas of family homes -- sometimes these homes only exist in photographs.

More than an Ornament - It's the Story
We love the process of recreating a moment frozen in time for our customers! We ask for the story behind each of our orders; it informs the design -- to know the who, what, where and WHY of it.
The main driving force behind this project is to preserve an individual's memory of place -- we ALL have homes that are part of our history.
The very first "Little Hanging Homes" were created for my mother as a Christmas present in December 2020. This first set of four were replicas of her childhood home, the house she and my dad raised us in early on while he was in graduate school, their first home purchased and their first home built. I had the idea for these ornaments rankling around in my head for a couple decades -- but never made the time to
make them.
2020 was just the year. I shared pictures of my creations on my social media page, when an old high school friend messaged me asking me to create one for her of her childhood home. I hadn't appreciated until that fortuitous message that my why would resonate so strongly with others. I am forever grateful to those that helped this tiny planted seed, grow and bloom.
A couple months later, "Little Hanging Homes" was officially launched.
The Hands, Heart and Mind
Sandy uses skills from her past experiences and education in physics, fine art, landscape architecture, education, program coordination and administrative support to design, construct and sell these little works of art.
Sandy has lived in many homes throughout her life on the East Coast: from New England and as far south as coastal North Carolina -- with a whole lot of stops along the way.
The process of turning a house into a home has been an inspiration for this project; home is where the heart is.
